Klassisk Novemberlys opens on Wednesday 11 November in Svolvær Kirke and closes on Sunday 15 November in Buksnes Kirke. The festival is strongly inspired by both Lofoten Internasjonale Kammermusikkfest and Lofoten Pianofestival, which are normally held in July. The biggest differences are first and foremost seen in the length of the festival and the number of concerts. The artistic level will be kept high, as usual.

Although Klassisk Novemberlys is an independent festival, several elements are taken from Lofoten Pianofestival, which was actually to have been held this summer. For example, Bach's well-known Goldberg Variations are still performed by the pianist Christian Ihle Hadland. Among new elements is in particular Arktisk Filharmonis Kammerorkester, which among other things performs Grieg's Holberg Suite, Vivaldi's Four Seasons and Tchaikovsky's Serenade for Strings.
Travel restrictions have made it difficult to rely on the international artists who were already planned for the summer festival. Nevertheless, the pianist Christian Ihle Hadland, the soprano Ann-Helen Moen, and the violinist Arvid Engegård with his own quartet are still taking part. In addition, the pianist Joachim Carr and Arktisk Filharmonis Kammerorkester have announced their arrival and will give several concerts during Klassisk Novemberlys. The orchestra is led by none other than the master violinist Henning Kraggerud.
There are still restrictions affecting larger events. The running of Klassisk Novemberlys will therefore be continuously adapted to the restrictions that apply to festivals at any given time. That means changes may still come in connection with the events. The most important thing, in any case, is that it should be safe for everyone to attend the events.
